SALINAS (KRON)--Police are looking for the person responsible for fatally shooting a man as he rode his bike in Salinas Thursday night.
Police say 26-year-old Santiago Ramirez was riding his bike east on Alma Avenue when a car pulled up next to him and someone inside asked what gang he belonged to. According to authorities, someone inside the car then repeatedly shot Ramirez in the torso.
Responding officers found Ramirez at the intersection of Alma Avenue and Second Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. He was taken to Navidid Medical Center where he died.
Police say the suspect vehicle was last seen driving away east on Alma Avenue. It is described as a dark-colored mid-sized SUV.
Anyone with information about this case should contact Salinas police.
