SAN JOSE (BCN)--Police are investigating a carjacking and shooting that occurred in San Jose earlier this week.
Police say the victim was sitting in the parking lot of a liquor store in the 1400 block of South White Road around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when two people approached him.
One of the suspects had a handgun and shot the victim, police said.
The two suspects then took the victim's car, a white 2004 Chevrolet Impala, and fled the scene, police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.
The victim then made his way to a nearby shopping center where he reported the incident and was then transported to Valley Medical Center, police said.
The victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening, and he has since been released from the hospital, Dwyer said.
The suspects in the shooting remain at large, police said.
