Update: 3-Year-Old Hospitalized Following Pit Bull Attack In Martinez

MARTINEZ (KRON)--Authorities are investigating an incident in which a dog attacked a 3-year-old in Martinez late Friday morning.
According to authorities, the attack was reported at about 11:35 a.m. in the 3100 block of Plum Avenue in unincorporated Martinez. The child was taken to Children's Hospital in Oakland to be treated for a bite to the face.
Animal services officers have taken the dog into custody and its owner has relinquished ownership of the animal. According to Lt. Cedric Cain, the dog will be quarantined and euthanized, as is standard
procedure following an attack.
