VALLEJO (KRON) -- Vallejo police are questioning a man who showed up at an area hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds to see if he's the suspected robber who confronted officers at an apartment complex Friday afternoon.
Authorities tell KRON 4 News robbery investigators tried to question a suspect in an ongoing robbery investigation at the Summit Ridge Apartment Complex on Parkview Terrace at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers say they determined the man was armed and a threat so they opened fire on the man, possibly hitting him at least once. The robbery suspect then ran off and managed to escape, detectives say.
About an hour and a half later the wounded man showed up at the hospital. Authorities are still trying to determine if he's the man wanted in the robbery investigation.
No officers or bystanders were hurt.
