MORGAN HILL (KRON) -- Santa Clara County Sheriff's investigators are conducting expanded searches of reservoirs Tuesday as they follow up on new leads into the disappearance of Sierra Lamar.
Divers are out with sonar equipment Tuesday conducting additional searches of reservoirs near Sierra's home. The searches come after authorities said Monday that they are working on newly obtained results of forensic analysis on evidence in the case.

"Sheriff’s Investigators are in receipt of County Crime Lab results for some of the evidence items that were submitted in the Sierra LaMar case," the sheriff's department said in a written release. "Due to the on-going investigative efforts in the case, no specific information will be released at this time pertaining to the results. The Crime Lab results however, have provided investigators with additional leads to follow-up on."
KRON 4's Terisa Estacio has learned that the case into the teen's disappearance is on the fast track and that evidence in the case is instantly processed.
The new leads come as the family of the missing Morgan Hill teen mark one month since her disappearance.

Police say Sierra has been missing since Friday, March 16, when she disappeared as she walked to a bus stop on her way to school. Her family marked the passage of one month with a balloon prayer release at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Burnett Elementary School.

"This month has truly been a nightmare," Sierra's father Steve Lamar said. "But our volunteers have given us faith, hope and the perseverance to continue in our search efforts. This balloon release will give us a chance for all of us to get together in prayer for Sierra."

Investigators believe it is likely that Sierra was abducted. Her items including her bag and cell phone have been recovered from areas near her home. Authorities aren't saying what specific pieces of evidence have prompted the new leads.

More than 600 volunteers gathered over the weekend to assist in search efforts for the teen by passing out fliers and promoting fundraising efforts. More searches are planned for Wednesday and next Saturday and Sunday.
