Woman Kidnapped, Sexually Assaulted Near Lake Merritt

OAKLAND (KRON)--Police are investigating the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman near Lake Merritt early Monday morning.

Police say the victim was walking on the sidewalk near Lakeshore Avenue and Boden Way at about 3 a.m. when a man drove up to her and forced her into his car. According to police, witnesses heard the victim and the suspect yelling.

Police say the suspect is described as an African-American man in his 20s and his vehicle is described as a dark-colored sedan.
