SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - A homeless man has been arrested on suspicion of setting his wife on fire on a San Jose street, killing her.
Police say 49-year-old Barton Williams was taken into custody on suspicion of murder at St. James Park in San Jose on Wednesday, two days after his wife, 64-year-old Patricia Storey, was found lying on the street suffering from severe burns.
She was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead the next day.
Police have not established a motive for the killing.
Sgt. Jason Dwyer said the couple - both transients - was married, so investigators are looking into the possibility of a domestic dispute.
They did not find any evidence of gunshot or knife wounds.
