OAKLAND (KRON)--A female suspect is on the loose after a truck driver foiled her attempt to rob a convenience store in Oakland Sunday night.
Police say just before 10 p.m., a truck driver was making his nightly delivery at the AM/PM gas station and convenience store located on Hegenberger Road when he noticed suspicious activity inside the store. According to police, the trucker entered the store and saw a female suspect pointing a handgun at the store's cashier.
Police say the trucker was able to wrestle the gun away from the suspect who then fled the store on foot. Police describe the suspect as an African-American woman, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. She was seen wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.
Anyone with information about this incident should contact Oakland police.
