SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)--A man in a wheelchair has died after he was struck by a Muni train late Monday morning.
Muni spokesman Paul Rose says that man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was struck by an outbound M-Ocean View train at about 11:45 a.m. The man was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities are on the scene at Civic Center station to investigate how the man got onto the tracks.
Muni metro service was shut down between the Embarcadero and West Portal stations and shuttle buses were set up to transport riders along that stretch.
