OAKLAND (KRON)--Police are investigating a shooting that left three people injured late Monday night.
Police say at 11 p.m. it appears that two men were exchanging gunfire at 98th Avenue and Holly Street one block east of International Boulevard. According to police, both men were struck by gunfire and a third person claiming to be driving through the intersection at the time of the shooting was also hit.
Police say as many as 50 rounds were fired during the exchange. KRON 4's Will Tran reports that the man who claimed to be driving through the intersection managed to drive home after he was hit by gunfire and was later taken to the hospital. The other two men were also taken to the hospital and all are expected to survive their injuries.
No motive information was immediately available and police say the men are being questioned at the hospital. Police believe the man who claimed to only be driving through the intersection at the time of the shooting may not have been an innocent bystander after all but they are continuing to investigate the incident.
