OAKLAND (KRON)--Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead early Wednesday morning, minutes after another person was found injured in another unrelated shooting.
KRON 4's Will Tran reports that at about 3:30 a.m., an adult male was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the area of 40th and Market streets. The man was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police say it's unclear if the shooting was a drive-by or if the suspect approached the victim on foot.
Police believe as many as four or five rounds were fired during the attack. The identity of the victim has not been released. The incident marks Oakland's 39th homicide of the year.
The shooting comes after police responded to another shooting near the corner of 55th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard at about 3 a.m. Police say a male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in either case.
