SAN RAMON (KRON)--School officials in San Ramon are putting parents on alert after they say a male stranger approached a third grader and offered the girl a ride to school.
Officials say at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday, a third grader at Golden View Elementary School was approached by a man who got out of his vehicle and offered the child a ride to school. According to officials the incident occured on Canyon Crest Drive near the staircase leading to the school field. Officials say the girl refused and went directly to the school and the man returned to his truck and drove away.
School officials reported the incident to police who describe the man as a tall Caucasian with dark eyes and chin hair. He was seen driving a faded blue truck and wearing a brown shirt and ski-type hat.
Anyone with information about this incident or who would like to report suspicious activity should contact San Ramon police and the school office.
