EMERYVILLE (KRON)--Evacuation orders have been lifted and streets are back open following a hazmat situation in Emeryville Friday morning.
Authorities say a hazmat issue involving a hydrogen tank leak was reported at an AC Transit yard in the area of 45th Street and San Pablo Avenue at about 7:45 a.m. Fred Dauer with the Emeryville Police Department says that at one point the hydrogen tank was on fire but that the leak had been quickly contained to the tank.
Emery Secondary School was closed for the day and nearby businesses including Pixar Studios and Anna Yates Elementary School were evacuated as a precaution.
45th Street between Hollis and San Pablo Avenue and Doyle Street between 45th and 47th streets were closed while crews investigated the leak.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
