FREMONT (BCN) -- An Amtrak Capitol Corridor train fatally struck a person in Fremont Tuesday afternoon, a spokeswoman said.
The train was traveling from Sacramento to San Jose when it struck the victim at about 1 p.m., Amtrak spokeswoman Danelle Hunter said.
No passengers or crew onboard the train were injured, Hunter said.
Passengers were bused to their final destination, and other Capitol Corridor trains were being rerouted around the area while an investigation was under way, Hunter said.
No significant delays were reported.
Information about the victim was not immediately available, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
