OAKLAND (KRON) -- Oakland police hope someone can lead them to 24-year old Eid Luqman Hasan who may have been wounded when officers shot at him during a pursuit more than a week ago.
Investigators say patrol officers had pulled over a car near Ney and Ritchie Streets at about 7:30 p.m. on May 9th. While police prepared to do a probation search on a man in the front seat of the car, witnesses say Hasan jumped out of the backseat and took off on foot.
The officer says he saw Hasan pull a weapon during the foot chase so the policeman fired one shot. Hasan fell to the ground and then got up and continued to run. He did manage to get away, police say.
Investigators say they did recover Hasan's weapon but he escaped into some nearby yards. It's unclear if the officer's shot hit the fleeing suspect or if Hasan is otherwise injured.
Hasan is 5’11” tall, and 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. There's a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest.
