OAKLAND (KRON)--According to reports, the Golden State Warriors may be close to announcing a deal to move the team to San Francisco.
Citing anonymous sources, ESPN reports that San Francisco mayor Ed Lee sent a letter earlier this month saying the city would work with with the team's executives to bring the Warriors to San Francisco in time for the 2017-2018 season.
According to sources, the team is looking at the possibility of building an arena along San Francisco's Embarcadero at piers 30 and 32.
Oakland mayor Jean Quan says she is committed to keeping the Warriors in the East Bay. The Warriors presently play at Oracle Arena.
