SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)--Two men have been arrested after allegedly carjacking a woman in San Francisco then leading police on a pursit across the Bay Bridge to Oakland early Thursday morning.
According to police, the carjacking was reported at about 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Battery and Washington streets in the Financial District.
Police say the suspects broke the window of the woman's car and ordered her out of the vehicle while simulating that they had a handgun. The suspects then took the vehicle which was seen driving across the Bay Bridge.
Police say despite authorities trying to stop the vehicle, it continued into Oakland and exited the highway at West Grand Avenue where one of the suspects got out and tried to flee on foot. He was apprehended after a brief pursuit. According to police, the driver continued driving for a short distance but then stopped and was then taken into custody at Maritime Street.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
