MOUNTAIN VIEW (KRON) -- The St. Francis High School band is expected to perform next week during funeral services for one of its own members, Nick Juarez who was shot and killed along with his grandmother in Oregon.

Students and teachers are remembering Juarez who was both an athlete and a musician.

His uncle, Adrien Wallace, is facing two county of murder for the shootings of Juarez and the teen's grandmother in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

"He's a great kid, just a sweet kid, it's absolutely shocking," Assistant Soccer Coach Sal Chavez tells KRON 4's Dan Kerman.  "The head coach would always give honorary captain to those who would give extra effort during practice and he would often get one of those.  He was always doing things that would help the team.  He was other centered and not himself."

Fellow bandmember Hugh Tomasello set up a Facebook page for those who knew him to leave their memories of Nick.

"I honestly believed he was going to make a difference in the world," Tomasello told Dan.  "He was so smart and such a sweet guy.  He has so much going for him I thought he was going to be a leader."

Because the school is out for the summer, any memorial for Nick Juarez will have to wait until the fall.  But the band he played drums in will be on hand for funeral services set for next week.
