MORGAN HILL (KRON)--The parents of missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra Lamar have announced a $35,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of their daughter who disappeared nearly three months ago.
At about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Steve and Marlene Lamar announce the increase in the reward for Sierra's safe return or for information leading to the successful prosecution of the person or persons responsible for her disappearance. Authorities say Sierra vanished on March 16 as she walked to a bus stop to go to school.
Despite the arrest of Antolin Garcia-Torres for Sierra's kidnapping and murder, the teen's parents remain hopeful that she will be found alive. Volunteers with the KlaasKids Foundation plan to hold another search for Sierra on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Garcia-Torres has yet to enter a plea on the charges and is not scheduled to be formally arraigned until at least July 10. Authorities say despite his DNA being found on Sierra's belongings that were recovered shortly after her disappearance, Garcia-Torres has steadfastly denied kidnapping and murdering the high school cheerleader.
