BART Promises to Work Hard to Mend Relationship with Community BART officials say they know they made mistakes in the way they dealt with the community in the hours and days after a transit agency police officer shot and killed a passenger on New Year's morning. BART Completes Preliminary Probe of Fatal New Year's Day Shooting Officials with the Bay Area Rapid Transit Board say they have concluded their preliminary investigation into the shooting of an unarmed rider at the hands of a transit system police officer.
